How to Register with The Staff Room

Registering with The Staff Room is easy

  • Or completing an online Registration Form and we will call you back. We will ask you some simple questions regarding your teaching experience and your work requirements.

An application pack will then be sent out to you via email and upon its return we will arrange a registration meeting.  During the Summer term we may have evening and weekend interviews available, if you are unavailable during school hours. Interviews take approximately 1-2 hours.

You be required to provide the following original documents:

  • Proof of ID (Valid Passport or EU Identity Card or UK Driving Licence & Full UK Birth Certificate & Proof of National Insurance number

  • Proof of Name Change

  • Proof of Address 

  • Qualification Certificates (Degree, PGCE, QTS, Induction, GSCE or equivalent)

  • Proof of NI Number

  • Proof of Current Pay Scale

You will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS disclosure application or provide us with an original copy of your DBS if you are registered with the up-date service.  

When am I ready to work?
Once you have completed our thorough and comprehensive vetting checks process (to include but not limited to: Enhanced DBS disclosure; Teaching Regulations Agency check; satisfactory references, signed Terms & Conditions and your Safeguarding in Education training certificate) you will able to work as a supply worker via The Staff Room.

We will send you out a Welcome Pack and a Staff Room ID badge to wear on all your supply assignments. 

How am I paid?
The Staff Room offers a competitive daily rate of pay.  We pay via our own in-house PAYE department which is completely free of charge.  Earnings are paid weekly, direct into your bank account. You will automatically be enrolled into our holiday pay scheme where you will be able to accrue the holiday pay element of your daily rate and this will be paid out as a lump sum at the beginning of each half term. Should you not wish for the holiday pay to be accrued, we can arrange for this to be paid weekly with your written authority. You do not have to worry about submitting timesheets, we take care of the liaison between schools to confirm your work.

How do you offer me further support?
Our friendly consultants will communicate with you on a regular basis to offer you assignments and discuss your availability.  We talk with many of our candidates daily, so will get to know your preferences in terms of year groups, locations and work pattern. We are here for you………to provide support and guidance whilst on your journey with us.
